3D Metrology Conference Celebrates 10th Anniversary in Aachen
The 10th anniversary of the 3D Metrology Conference (3DMC) is set to take place in Aachen, Germany, from 16-18 September 2025. This prestigious event, held at the Werkzeugmaschinenlabor (WZL) of RWTH Aachen University, has grown from a niche technical meeting to a respected gathering in the metrology community over the past decade.
The conference will kick off with two keynote speeches. Heiko Wenzel-Schinzer from VDMA will delve into 'Shape Prediction for Major Aircraft Assembly', while Ben Rennison from Boeing will discuss 'Comparison of 3D Measurement Systems for Aerospace'. Attendees can also expect 18 technical presentations from global experts, covering topics such as real-time measurement, AI-driven data analytics, and digital twin integrations.
The WZL will host a supporters' exhibition, offering hands-on experiences with the latest metrology advancements. Emerging researchers and young professionals will have the opportunity to showcase their work at the poster exhibition. Additionally, a keynote address from the VDMA will provide a strategic perspective on metrology integration in smart manufacturing.
The 3DMC 2025 will also celebrate its milestone anniversary with two evening social functions: an icebreaker reception and a networking dinner. These events will foster informal networking and collaboration among attendees. As the conference reflects on a decade of progress, it will also look ahead to the future of 3D metrology technologies.
