Accessing Multiple Rapid Charging Stations Across Europe Through a Single Application
In a significant leap forward for electric mobility, Electra, a pioneering provider of charging solutions, has successfully integrated Europe's largest fast-charging network, Spark Alliance. The alliance, formed by Atlante, Electra, Fastned, and Ionity, now offers over 11,000 charging points accessible within the Electra app.
This integration, completed as of July 2025, provides Electra users with the ability to locate, navigate to, and start charging sessions at partner stations without leaving the app. It's important to note that charging prices correspond to the operator of the specific station being used.
The Spark Alliance integration also extends to the native apps of other members, such as Ionity. However, the implementation varies slightly among partners. For instance, Ionity's app currently only displays partner locations but does not allow users to start or pay for charging sessions at those partner sites; users must still use the partner's app or other authorized payment methods to charge.
To incentivize users to adopt this integrated charging experience, Electra is offering a promotional price reduction for charging via its app. From July to August 2025, the price will be reduced to €0.39/kWh, representing a roughly 50% discount.
With this development, the Electra app now offers full visibility and navigation to all Spark Alliance partner charge points, the ability to start charging sessions directly within the app on partner chargers, pricing set by the respective operator of each station, participation in cross-app visibility with other Spark members’ apps, and upcoming promotional pricing encouraging use of the integrated service.
Electra's charging network is renowned for reliable charging processes and a seamless, intuitive user experience. The company's commitment to making electric mobility accessible in Europe has been recognised with awards such as the "French Tech Next 40", "France 2030", and the "European Scale-Up of the Year".
In addition to this integration, Electra plans to expand its charging network to 15,000 fast-charging points by 2030. The average charging time at Electra stations is only 20 minutes, making it a convenient choice for drivers.
In Austria and Switzerland, the price for fast charging with the Electra app is also 0.49 euros per kilowatt-hour from July. In Italy, Electra will lower the price for app-based charging sessions to 0.39 €/kWh for July and August 2025, a reduction of around 50% from the current standard rate.
This development represents a significant step towards seamless cross-network EV charging in Europe, reducing app switching and simplifying the user experience across major fast-charging networks.
