Adobe Creative Cloud has implemented a revolutionary advancement through the integration of Luma AI Ray3 technology, marking a global first in the field.
Adobe, the industry-leading creative software company, has taken a significant step forward in AI-driven content creation by integrating Luma AI's Ray3 into its Firefly platform. This groundbreaking move marks a change in Adobe's strategy and positions Firefly as the go-to destination for emerging creative AI models.
Ray3, Luma AI's latest AI video model, is designed to generate high-quality, cinematic video footage. It supports native 10-, 12-, and 16-bit High Dynamic Range (HDR) ACES2065-1 EXR format, allowing for deeper shadows and brighter highlights in the generated clips. One of Ray3's standout features is its ability to produce 10-second HDR video clips with advanced scene reasoning.
Adobe suggests using Ray3 via Firefly's Text to Video feature to quickly generate b-roll or background footage for videos or build dynamic transitions for social media posts. The model appears as a video generation option in the new Firefly Boards app, where creatives can explore visual directions for environments, shot compositions, and camera perspectives before a shoot.
To ensure transparency, Adobe has added Content Credentials to all AI-generated assets in Firefly. This allows users to keep track of how assets were generated, whether they were created with Adobe's own Firefly or AI models from trusted partners.
In addition to Ray3, Adobe's Firefly AI platform has been integrated with AI models from OpenAI, Ideogram, Pika, Black Forest Labs, Runway, Moonvalley, and Topaz Labs. The company aims to make Firefly the creative AI ecosystem of the future, an all-in-one platform for creative AI.
As part of this initiative, Adobe is offering unlimited free Ray3 generations for all customers on a paid Firefly plan or Creative Cloud Pro plan until 1 October. This move underscores Adobe's commitment to making AI tools accessible to its users.
One of the key advantages of Ray3 is its reduced tendency towards hallucinations compared to other AI video generators. It also includes a neural upscaler that can upscale output to 4K. Luma AI's Ray3 is now available as a model option in the Adobe Firefly app, making Adobe the first third-party partner to launch it outside of Luma AI's Dream Machine platform.
Previously, Adobe's integrations tended to be in the form of third-party plugins, but the company is now promoting these integrations itself. This shift reflects Adobe's ambition to make Firefly the first place users turn to when new breakthrough creative AI models emerge.
Adobe's strategy has been to regularly update its proprietary tools like Photoshop, Illustrator, and Premiere Pro. With the integration of Ray3, Adobe is extending this strategy to AI-driven content creation, positioning itself at the forefront of the AI revolution in the creative industry.
