Amazon & Startup India Launch $50K Equity-Free Accelerator for Indian Consumer Startups
Amazon and Startup India have launched an accelerator programme, Amazon Global Selling Propel (AGSP), offering a total equity-free grant of $50,000 to participating Indian startups. The initiative aims to help Indian consumer product startups establish themselves in international markets and create global brands.
The programme, AGSP, is an extension of Amazon's growing interest in supporting Indian startups. Amit Agarwal, Global Senior Vice President and Country Head of Amazon India, has expressed enthusiasm about the Global Selling programme's increasing popularity.
Deepak Bagla, MD & CEO of Invest India, sees this initiative as a significant opportunity for startups to access global markets. The programme offers dedicated support, mentorship from Amazon leaders, VCs, and Startup India/Invest India officials. Participants will also have the chance to showcase their business propositions to partner VC firms Sequoia Capital India and Fireside Ventures. Open virtual mentorship sessions will be hosted for peer learning and networking.
The Amazon Smbhav programme, in partnership with Startup India, is set to empower early-stage consumer product startups with the resources and support needed to launch internationally. With a $50,000 equity-free grant up for grabs, this initiative presents a unique opportunity for startups to expand their reach and create global brands.
