Amazon's eBook Market Dominance Revealed to Be Lower Than Believed

Amazon's dominance in the eBook market has been revealed to be less than previously thought. The tech giant controls 61% of the market, not the 80% commonly believed. Meanwhile, Apple's iBooks has an estimated 3% share, with Barnes & Noble and Sony trailing at 20% and 5% respectively.

Amazon's Kindle eBook store leads all major online sales for ebooks. However, its overall control of the E-Reading market stands at 40%. Reading directly on a PC comes in second place in this market. Despite Apple's iBooks being expected to control around 3% of the total ebook market, no specific information is available regarding its market share since April. Sony has a meager 5% of ebook downloads, while Barnes & Noble holds 20%, making it the runner up.

The eBook market is dominated by Amazon, with a 61% share, followed by Barnes & Noble at 20%. Apple's iBooks has an estimated 3% share, with Sony at 5%. The market continues to evolve, with Amazon's Kindle eBook store leading online sales.
