Amazon's Seller Assistant Gets AI Boost, Offers New Tools for Free
Amazon has bolstered its Seller Assistant tool with advanced AI capabilities, offering U.S. merchants a suite of new features at no extra cost. The upgrade, set to roll out in more countries next month, includes AI-driven product recommendations, visual search, and automated ad creation.
The enhanced Seller Assistant can now generate custom ad concepts and brainstorm ideas through a conversational chat with the seller. It also monitors inventory levels, analyzes demand patterns, and suggests price markdowns for slow-moving products.
The AI tool can create an inventory plan with personalized recommendations, optimize product distribution, and identify new product categories. It also advises merchants on marketing strategies and entering new markets. Additionally, it helps sellers manage product safety regulations, customer service metrics, and compliance issues.
Amazon's investment in generative AI is expected to reduce its workforce, with the company admitting that efficiency gains may lead to job cuts. The upgraded Seller Assistant is set to launch next month in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, France, and Germany. Amazon has previously used AI to improve its Alexa voice assistant, demonstrating its commitment to AI integration across its platforms.
