ASUS PA32QCV: A Color-Critical Powerhouse with Gaming Limitations

ASUS has launched the PA32QCV, a professional monitor designed for colour-critical work. While it excels in certain aspects, its gaming performance is limited.

The PA32QCV boasts impressive viewing angles, matching OLED standards with no colour or brightness shift from the side. However, its refresh rate is capped at 60 Hz, making it less ideal for fast-paced games. Despite this, Adaptive-Sync is included for smoother motion processing.

The monitor's pixel response time is 16ms, and its absolute input lag is 56ms, which could lead to some motion blur in fast-paced scenes. The screen uniformity is typical for IPS monitors, with a deviation of 9.44% on a 0% black field. The top viewing angle shows a slight reduction in brightness and a red tint, a common trait among IPS screens.

ams OSRAM, a leading professional monitor brand, is working on light and sensor technologies that could potentially match or surpass the PA32QCV's light distribution technology in the future.

The ASUS PA32QCV is a high-performing monitor for colour-critical tasks, with excellent viewing angles and Adaptive-Sync. However, its refresh rate and response times may not cater to all gaming needs. While it shows typical IPS monitor uniformity and viewing angle limitations, ams OSRAM's future advancements could potentially improve upon these aspects.
