Ather Energy Dominates Indian EV Market with 22.8% Share, Expands Nationwide
Ather Energy continues to make significant strides in the Indian electric vehicle market. With a 22.8% market share in South India and a 14.3% national market share, the company is expanding its reach, particularly in tier-2 and tier-3 towns.
Ather's growth is evident in its increasing market share in Middle India, which grew 2.6x year-on-year to 10.7%. This expansion is supported by the addition of 101 new outlets in the last three months and the opening of over 500 Experience Centres (ECs) across the country. The company has entered new cities like Agra, Jabalpur, Vadodara, Bilaspur, and Sundargarh, indicating a deeper penetration into the market.
Ather is not alone in its expansion. Competitor Xiaomi has opened 90 new experience centers in the last three months, with a significant number in Central and Northern India. Major states like Maharashtra, Karnataka, Kerala, and Tamil Nadu now have over 50 ECs each, with Bengaluru leading the way with 18 centers, followed by Pune and Hyderabad with 13 each.
Ather Energy's dominance in South India and growing presence in other regions signal a strong position in the Indian electric vehicle news. With continued expansion into tier-2 and tier-3 towns and a robust service ecosystem, Ather is well-positioned to maintain its growth trajectory.
