Aypa Power & Canadian Solar Team Up for 420 MW Ontario Battery Projects

Aypa Power & Canadian Solar Team Up for 420 MW Ontario Battery Projects

Aypa Power and Canadian Solar Inc. (CSIQ) have joined forces to develop two significant battery storage projects in Ontario, Canada. The Elora and Hedley projects, totalling 420 MW / 2,122 MWh of storage capacity, are set to meet rising demand and maintain a reliable grid, as stated by Moe Hajabed, CEO of Aypa Power.

The projects will utilise e-STORAGE's SolBank product under 20-year Long-Term Services Agreements (LTSA). e-STORAGE, a business unit majority-owned by CSI Solar Co., Ltd., part of Canadian Solar Inc., is the company behind this collaboration with Aypa Power. Colin Parkin, President of e-STORAGE, expressed pride in expanding the partnership with Aypa Power and reaffirmed commitment to the Canadian market.

Delivery of the projects is scheduled to commence in the first quarter of 2026, with commercial operation expected in the first half of 2027.

The Elora and Hedley projects, with their combined 420 MW / 2,122 MWh of storage capacity, are poised to be among the largest in Ontario. This collaboration between Aypa Power and Canadian Solar Inc. aims to provide reliable energy solutions, meeting the rising demand and maintaining a stable grid in the region.
