Banking giant Maybank teams up with Microsoft to spur digital advancement and intelligent AI-led innovation.
Maybank and Microsoft Partner for Digital Transformation
Maybank, a leading Malaysian financial services group, has announced a strategic partnership with Microsoft to drive digital transformation, enhance customer experience, and boost operational efficiency. The partnership, valued at approximately RM1.0 billion over five years, will primarily be achieved through the adoption of Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365, and Microsoft 365 Copilot.
Under this partnership, Maybank will leverage Microsoft's advanced security tools to enhance its cybersecurity posture, ensuring robust data protection. One of the main cloud platforms for key systems, data workloads, and operations will be Azure, providing a scalable, secure, and resilient infrastructure. This will enable real-time data analytics, faster deployment of new solutions, and significant operational efficiencies.
Maybank will also modernize the digital workspace of its 44,000 employees by upgrading to Microsoft 365. This move will enhance productivity and collaboration among staff members. To further boost productivity, Microsoft 365 Copilot, an AI-powered assistant, will be rolled out to all employees. The assistant will automate complex and repetitive tasks, streamlining workflows and supporting smarter decision-making.

The partnership also includes plans to establish a joint Centre of Excellence. This collaboration space will focus on nurturing in-house talents in cloud and AI-powered innovation. The Centre will be a hub for developing cloud and AI solutions and building talent in these areas.
