Bureau for Population Protection to be established in or around Munich - Bavaria Launches Germany's First State Office for Population Protection

Bavaria is set to establish the first state office for population protection in Germany. The new authority, dubbed the 'news office', will be based in Munich or its close proximity, as announced by the Bavarian cabinet. This move comes in response to the federal government's publication of new operations plans for civil protection, reflecting a shift in threat situations.

The establishment of the 'news office' was officially initiated by Bavarian politician Joachim Herrmann, acting on behalf of the interior minister who was tasked with this responsibility by the Bavarian cabinet. The new authority's primary goal is to strengthen the state's overall ability to act in population protection and enhance administrative structures at the state level.

Initially, the 'news office' will focus on planning and coordinating tasks. However, it will also play a special role in crisis situations, ensuring it is strategically located near the state government in Munich.

The 'news office' for population protection, the first of its kind in Germany, will be established in Munich. Its aim is to bolster the state's response capabilities and administrative structures. The office's proximity to the state government will facilitate swift decision-making and coordination in times of crisis.
