Berlin's Gaming Scene TV-14+ Gets a Major Boost: The House of Games!

Berlin receives a House of Entertainment for gamers: gaming complex opens doors - Berlin acquires gaming house

Get ready, gamers of Berlin! A brand-new hub for our booming gaming industry is about to set up shop, and it's going to be epic! Mere steps away from Friedrichshain, a jaw-dropping five-story brick building will soon become known as the House of Games, boasting a whopping 14,753 square meters of pure video game awesomeness.

The long-awaited House of Games is no mere pipe dream—it's the real deal, and local authorities sure know it. CDU's Kai Wegner (Governing Mayor) and SPD's Franziska Giffey (Senator for Economics) were both on hand to announce this exciting venture, with Wegner saying, "This is where we write the future!"

The House of Games will be a beacon of collaborative gaming culture, drawing together established giants, ambitious startups, tech service providers, associations, cultural institutions, and academia under one uber-cool roof. Ubisoft has officially joined the party as the anchor tenant, and over 25 amazing companies have already lined up, eager to hop on board!

Wegner himself calls Berlin "the gaming capital," and with over 350 gaming-related companies currently operating within the city, employing more than 4,000 gamers, it's clear that the scene in Berlin is already thriving. But Wegner sees even greater things on the horizon for the House of Games. As he put it, "There's nothing like it in Germany, Bavaria, or internationally. It's as unique as Berlin, and it gives the gaming industry a significant boost."

Giffey enthusiastically confirmed that the House of Games is due to launch early 2026, proclaiming it to be a guiding light for Berlin's gaming elite, not only locally but internationally as well. She credits Berlin's recent economic growth to its focus on fostering tech growth sectors, and she has no doubt that the House of Games will continue to propel the city forward in this regard.

You could say the House of Games is an innovation "Quartier Lux" (translation: "luxury quarter"), aimed at creating jobs, nurturing fresh ideas, and fostering a dynamic exchange of ideas between gaming enthusiasts, professionals, and creators of all stripes. If you're into gaming, tech, or just think this sounds like an amazing place to hang out and connect with like-minded individuals, be sure to mark your calendars for early 2026!

The Commission may be tasked to devise a financial plan for the construction of the House of Games, considering its scale and the numerous companies involved. With this innovative hub, there might be opportunities for businesses, particularly those related to technology, to collaborate and thrive, potentially impacting the lifestyle and working conditions of gaming professionals.
