Bicycles Relocate to Children's Home in Greiz
Police in Greiz Donate Refurbished Bicycles to Children's Home
In a charitable act, the Greiz Police have donated two bicycles to the "Walter Riedel" children's home in Greiz. The bicycles, previously unclaimed property, were refurbished and checked by the public prosecutor's office and the state police headquarters in Erfurt before being released for use.
One of the bicycles was found in Greiz in 2021, while the other was not collected by its owner after a traffic accident in the same year. The second bicycle was initially involved in a theft in Rostock back in 2014, but no information about the owner's identity is disclosed in the available sources.
The donation was made official on August 28, 2025, when Police Chief Commissioner Fiebig of the Greiz Police handed over the bicycles to the children's home. Mrs. Gerwin, representing the children's facility, accepted the donation.
The first children of the home have already started using the donated bicycles. This generous act is expected to bring joy and mobility to the children, providing them with a sense of freedom and independence.
