BMW i8 Spotted in Snowy Location, Hinting at Cold-Weather Testing
BMW is filming its i8 model in a snowy location, hinting at cold-weather testing for the 'i' range. The car, spotted with a 'Vision EfficientDynamics' plate, is not camouflaged but a filming prop. The shoot is part of a campaign by Jung von Matt Hamburg, with Tempomedia handling production.
Despite rumours of engine changes, the i8 is expected to retain its impressive 0-60mph time under 5 seconds and 75mpg fuel efficiency. The car, positioned as a halo model, is set to arrive in 2013 with a price tag around £150,000. The i8 is being used to tease BMW's new i range in an upcoming video. Speculations suggest a 4-pot petrol engine might replace the original 1.5 litre diesel.
BMW's i8 is currently in the spotlight, not for testing, but for a filming project. Its performance and efficiency are expected to remain unchanged despite possible engine modifications. The luxury sports car is set to hit the market in 2013 at a premium price, serving as a flagship for BMW's i range.
