Britain's sovereignty in question: Is Britain shifting towards a subsidiary role under Trump's U.S., according to Andrew Marr's analysis

In recent times, questions have been raised about the State visit of a foreign leader, with concerns that it could be a disguise for a reverse takeover of British democracy by the U.S.

The State visit showcases the remaining imperial grandeur of Britain, with a hint of subservience towards American influence. Traditional British symbols, such as green whirlybirds, well-behaved horses, golden carriages, and soldiers dressed in 1890-style uniforms, were on display during the visit of President Trump.

British tech companies could be at a disadvantage due to competition from larger American rivals. However, major technology influencers in the UK, active in healthcare, defense, and government, have close ties with their American counterparts. Partnerships between UK and US governments and companies focused on AI-driven healthcare breakthroughs, defense technology alignment with the UK Ministry of Defence, and joint quantum computing initiatives are evidence of this.

American companies significantly influence British politics and economy through multi-billion-pound investments—over £31 billion—under agreements like the Tech Prosperity Deal. This fosters collaboration in AI, quantum computing, and biotech while driving job creation and technological advancements in the UK.

However, the fairness of this American influence is being questioned. American help is needed in areas such as defense, data centers, AI, and social media, but the price for this help may include getting rid of the digital services tax, allowing free access to data, and regulating the horrors of the internet less effectively.

British politicians are said to understand the potential influence of American social media, but are too cowardly to speak out. American AI and social media campaigns can potentially damage the reputations of British politicians.

Intriguingly, Elon Musk's X platform is used by British ministers to communicate with voters. Elon Musk, along with Peter Thiel, Larry Ellison, and Sam Altman, are influential figures in American technology, with ties to the British government and military establishment.

The comparison is made between the State visit and the exchange of goods in the past, suggesting a modern-day equivalent. President Trump is known for using tariffs to interfere deeply in other countries' politics. The State visit, therefore, raises questions about the potential for Britain's democracy to be influenced by the U.S.

As the world of technology continues to evolve, the relationship between Britain and the U.S. in this sphere remains a topic of ongoing debate and scrutiny.
