BYD Initiates Nationwide Roadside Assistance Program in Collaboration with Australian Motoring Organizations

In a significant move, Chinese electric automaker BYD has launched a comprehensive roadside assistance program across Australia. This program, designed to provide drivers with peace of mind while traveling, is a partnership with Australian Motoring Services (AMS), a joint venture connecting Australia's major motoring clubs: NRMA, RACV, RACQ, RAA, and RACT.

Rebecca Stenhouse, CEO of AMS, emphasized the importance of support systems for electric vehicle drivers. She stated that the roadside assistance program is well-equipped to respond to various incidents, providing drivers with confidence regardless of the complexity of the incident.

The program offers 24/7 nationwide coverage for a wide range of incidents including flat batteries, tyre changes, towing services, and emergency transport. All new BYD vehicles delivered from July 22, 2025, come with 12 months of complimentary roadside assistance membership, which customers can renew annually.

BYD also supports this program with its own in-house service centers to provide additional technical and maintenance support. Stephen Collins, COO of BYD Australia, stated that their focus is on delivering peace of mind to every BYD driver.

This roadside assistance program is part of BYD’s broader efforts to enhance customer experience, including expanding dealers and boosting customer service capacity.

Joshua S. Hill, a Melbourne-based journalist who has been writing about climate change, clean technology, and electric vehicles for over 15 years, reported on this development. Interestingly, Mr. Hill prefers to travel on foot.

In conclusion, the launch of this roadside assistance program marks a significant step forward in BYD's commitment to providing reliable and comprehensive support to its Australian customers. With AMS's extensive national service network and expertise, BYD drivers can now receive trusted, responsive roadside support anywhere in Australia.

The roadside assistance program, a collaborative effort between BYD and Australian Motoring Services (AMS), extends support not only to electric vehicles but also to various sectors such as finance, transportation, and technology, as it aims to respond effectively to diverse incidents on the road. BYD, with its growing industry presence, is not only focused on delivering electric automobiles but also prioritizes the creation of a supportive network for its customers, offering a wide range of services that ensure peace of mind for drivers everywhere.
