The Chinese automotive giant, BYD, has unveiled its latest offering, the Tang L SUV, a flagship large electric vehicle that boasts impressive performance and cutting-edge technological features.

### Performance Highlights

The Tang L SUV is equipped with a dual-motor all-wheel-drive powertrain, delivering a total power of approximately 500 kW in its top configurations. This powertrain enables the vehicle to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.9 seconds, reaching a top speed of 240 km/h.

The Tang L's powertrain consists of a front motor peaking at 230 kW and a rear motor peaking at an impressive 580 kW. The single-motor version of the vehicle can produce 500 kW at up to 30,511 RPM.

The Tang L SUV is powered by a large 100.5 kWh LFP blade battery, capable of providing an impressive CLTC range of 670 km. The vehicle supports dual gun charging, allowing the simultaneous use of two charging cables, which enables a maximum charging rate of up to 1000 kW. This results in extremely fast charging times: 10% to 70% in just 6 minutes, and a full charge (0-100%) in 29.7 minutes.

### Unique Features

The Tang L SUV seats seven passengers and offers a spacious interior, measuring approximately 5040 mm in length, 1996 mm in width, and 1760 mm in height. A distinctive design element is the "Loong Face" front fascia, inspired by Chinese heritage.

One standout technological feature is an optional roof-mounted drone docking station that can be deployed with a button, adding utility for aerial inspections or deliveries. The vehicle also includes standard electric power steering, regenerative braking, and advanced suspension systems (MacPherson strut front, multi-link rear).

The Tang L SUV is equipped with advanced charging and battery management features, including liquid cooling for the battery and support for fast charging.

### A Competitive Large Electric SUV

The BYD Tang L combines a powerful dual-motor AWD powertrain, cutting-edge battery technology, and ultra-fast charging capability, alongside unique innovations like the roof drone docking station. This makes it a highly competitive large electric SUV with strong performance credentials and advanced tech features tailored for both performance and convenience.

The public is invited to submit feedback on the Tang L SUV between January 11-17. The addition of LiDAR to the Tang L is expected to lead to more powerful intelligent driving capabilities. The Han L, another model from BYD, also features in the latest MIIT catalog and has a claimed acceleration of 0 to 100 km/h in 2.7 seconds.

The Tang L SUV is available in five plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) versions and three battery electric vehicle (BEV) versions, each with unique model numbers. The Tang L BEV and PHEV variants have the same dimensions: 5,040 mm in length, 1,996 mm in width, 1,760 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,950 mm.

In conclusion, the BYD Tang L offers a compelling blend of performance, technology, and innovation, making it an attractive choice for consumers seeking a high-performance electric SUV.
