The anodes, produced from Century Lithium's wholly owned lithium project, Angel Island in Esmeralda County, Nevada, have demonstrated outstanding quality.
The collaboration between Century Lithium and Alpha-En Corporation, a company based in Hopewell Junction, New York, played a crucial role in this achievement. Century Lithium provided Alpha-En with a sample of 99.8% pure lithium carbonate from Angel Island, and the latter was responsible for the successful conversion of the lithium carbonate into battery-grade lithium-metal anodes.
In a pilot test, Century Lithium's material exceeded the quality of battery-grade lithium carbonate from a commercial non-domestic source. The Li-MA produced by Alpha-En using Century Lithium's lithium carbonate had a high areal capacity and extraction efficiency.
