Confirmation from Battlefield 6's lead producer: The completed game will feature expansive battlefields, surpassing the confined and chaotic skirmishes displayed in the beta.
Battlefield 6 to Introduce Larger Maps for More Tactical Gameplay
Following the successful first Battlefield 6 beta weekend, players can look forward to larger maps in the full game, offering a more tactical and less frantic gameplay experience. This was confirmed by David Sirland, DICE's lead Battlefield producer, and the development team.
During the beta, the maps were smaller and faster-paced, but the launch and post-launch maps will include significantly larger maps. For instance, Mirak Valley and the remake of Operation Firestorm from Battlefield 3 will be much larger, providing expansive combat areas. Mirak Valley alone is more than half a kilometer in size and features diverse terrain such as mountains and rivers. Eastwood, a post-launch map, is also considerably larger and introduces new vehicle types like boats and golf carts.
The developers have emphasized that they have heard player feedback about the smaller beta maps and are incorporating bigger maps at launch to cater to the traditional Battlefield scale of gameplay. This balance between action-packed moments and opportunities for strategy over a larger battlefield will be a key feature of Battlefield 6.
The full Battlefield 6 launch is scheduled for October 10. In the meantime, the second open beta weekend of Battlefield 6 will include the Empire State map, known for its verticality and potential for dense firefights, as well as the Rush mode.

New information about larger maps in Battlefield 6 will be released on August 11, 2025. Battlefield Studios is committed to making Battlefield 6 a memorable experience for players, and the addition of larger maps is a significant step towards achieving that goal.
