Buffalo City and Johnson County have taken a significant step towards modernizing their telephony infrastructure, as they have approved a collaboration to explore the implementation of a shared telephone system using Cisco Webex Calling.

The Buffalo Council has voted in favour of investigating or negotiating an agreement with Cisco Webex Calling, with the aim of implementing a unified communications platform that will allow both the city and county to share infrastructure, streamline communication, and potentially reduce costs.

The collaboration is still in its early stages, with no specific details about system features, timelines, or costs available in the recent public sources. However, it is clear that the potential telephone system to be purchased is new and provided by Cisco Webex Calling.

This development marks a new phase in the potential telephone system purchase and is expected to bring numerous benefits to both parties involved. More information about the collaboration is expected to be released in due course as the agreement progresses.
