In a marked contrast to the challenges faced by Chinese EV manufacturer BYD in India, domestic helmet manufacturer Steelbird Hi-Tech is making bold strides in the helmet industry.
Steelbird Hi-Tech, known for its ambitious plans, is working towards building India's most integrated helmet ecosystem. The company aims to produce 60,000 units of helmets per day and launch 15 new helmet models per year.
Rajeev Kapur, MD of Steelbird Hi-Tech, is not only pushing for policy reforms to curb fake helmets but also targeting a revenue of ₹1,300 crore by FY26-27.
The Kinetic DX, an electric scooter launched by Steelbird Hi-Tech, has already made its debut in India with a starting price of ₹1.12 lakh (ex-showroom). The Kinetic DX comes with a standard warranty of three years or 30,000 km, and an extended warranty option of nine years or one lakh km.
Interested consumers can book the Kinetic DX at a token amount of ₹1,000, with bookings open from July 28, 2022, and deliveries expected to commence in October 2025, with a limit of 40,000 units. The Kinetic DX promises a range of 116 km and is available in five different color choices - White, Blue, Black, Silver, and Red.
