Serko Expands Presence in India, Bolstering Technology Ties Between New Zealand and India

New Zealand-based travel management solutions provider, Serko, has announced its expansion in India as part of its growth strategy. The company, listed on both the New Zealand Stock Exchange (NZX:SKO) and Australian Securities Exchange (ASX:SKO), is opening a new office in Bengaluru.

CEO Darrin Grafton signed a memorandum to announce a new development center in Bengaluru, India. This move is expected to significantly increase Serko's employee base in the city, with an estimated 150 employees next year and a further aim to reach around 200 over the coming year.

Darrin Grafton stated that Bengaluru has become an essential hub for Serko's product innovation and development. "Our solutions enable travelers to start their trip online and continue online through change and disruption," he added.

Serko's travel and expense management solutions are used by businesses worldwide, offering travelers the ability to shop and book from millions of flight, accommodation, and ground transport options. The company offers travel booking and management through GetThere, Zeno, or Booking.com for Business.

Prime Minister Christopher Luxon welcomed Serko's participation in the mission, noting Serko as an example of New Zealand's growing technology export sector. He expressed his delight at having Serko as part of the mission and his support for the company's continued success.

The trade mission, led by Prime Minister Luxon, aims to enhance business ties between New Zealand and India. Serko's participation underscores its commitment to India as a growing center for technological excellence and innovation.
