Discovered Two Rhythm Games Equal to Beat Saber's Caliber
In the world of virtual reality (VR) gaming, rhythm games continue to captivate players with their unique blend of music and interaction. Two new additions to the Meta Quest platform, Maestro and Trombone Champ Unflattened, are set to bring fresh beats and new challenges.
Maestro, a semi-serious orchestra conducting simulator, puts players in the conductor's seat, allowing them to control an orchestra using their hands. With up to 120 musicians to direct, the game offers a challenging experience that ramps up quickly, requiring precise timing and full range of movement.
On the other hand, Trombone Champ Unflattened, a relaunch of the 2022 instant-classic rhythm game, focuses on fun and silliness. This game features physical trombone control with hand controllers, allowing players to make sounds between notes. The game offers 58 tracks, including classical, meme internet songs, and more.
Trombone Champ Unflattened also features notes that float forward, encouraging more movement and easier visibility. Unlike traditional rhythm games, this game does not require players to get the song right, focusing instead on the joy of playing.
Both games offer progression typical of rhythm games, but free-play is also available for those who want a more casual experience. For Maestro, a free demo called Maestro: The Masterclass is available for those who want to try before they buy.
In addition to these new releases, other notable VR rhythm games on the Meta Quest platform include Thumper, BEATABLE, Rez Infinite, and Tetris Effect. Thumper is widely regarded as one of the best and most intense rhythm games on VR, while BEATABLE uses hand tracking to turn real-world surfaces into instruments. Rez Infinite offers a synesthetic experience, and Tetris Effect delivers a rhythm-infused gameplay experience.
However, it's important to note that, at the time of writing, Trombone Champ Unflattened and Maestro do not appear to be available on the Meta Quest platform as VR rhythm games based on current data.

The Lunar New Year update for Trombone Champ Unflattened also includes full custom song support in-headset.
