In a traditional single batch panel setup, the HLT heating element is used to control mash temperature. However, it can take longer to brew two batches in one day with a single batch panel compared to the double batch upgrade. With the upgrade, simultaneous powering of HLT and Boil Kettle (BK) elements becomes possible, enabling the refilling and heating of HLT water for the next batch while the first batch is boiling.
This design improvement cuts overall cycle times, facilitating faster brewing throughput. Although specific figures may vary, the general principle in brewing systems upgrades often results in approximately a 20% reduction in cycle times, meaning quicker transitions between batches.
