In the world of AAA gaming, storage space can often be a limiting factor. However, with the upcoming release of Battlefield 6, players may find themselves with more room on their hard drives.

The multiplayer component of Battlefield 6 is set to be the core part of the game, and it's clear that EA has put a lot of effort into ensuring a long tail for the multiplayer experience. Players can choose to leave out any components they don't plan to play, saving valuable storage space.

Battlefield 6's storage requirement of 80GB is less than some other AAA games like Assassin's Creed Valhalla and Jedi: Survivor, which require double the storage. This modular installation system allows users to customise their installation by choosing only the parts of the game they want.

The base package of the game is likely the 55GB storage suggestion, with additional components such as the single-player campaign and multiplayer modes available for separate installation. This modularity will be particularly helpful for players who finish the campaign and want to free up space for the multiplayer.

Pre-purchasing Battlefield 6 is now possible on Steam, with the game not scheduled to launch until October 10. There will be two open beta weekends for Battlefield 6 this month, on August 9-10 and 14-17.

Stevie Bonifield, a freelance tech journalist specialising in mobile tech, gaming gear, and accessories, has shared his thoughts on the upcoming release. Bonifield, who enjoys indie games, tabletop role-playing games (TTRPGs), and building custom keyboards outside of writing, is looking forward to diving into Battlefield 6.

The pre-purchase price for Battlefield 6 is $69 (or $99 for the Phantom Edition). With its modular installation system, lower storage requirements compared to other AAA titles, and exciting gameplay, Battlefield 6 is shaping up to be an attractive option for gamers this autumn.
