Elden Ring's Nightreign Executor is renowned for his parry skills, but a top-tier build bypasses this entirely, opting instead to obliterate foes with debilitating statuses. Here's the lowdown on this strategy.

Elden Ring's Nightreign Executor Build, featuring triple status effects, proves a devastatingly powerful approach against bosses, leaving players amazed and unwilling to try alternative methods.

In the latest adventure from FromSoftware, Elden Ring Nightreign, the Executor, a high-risk, high-reward katana-wielding warrior, steals the spotlight as the most intriguing character to play. This roguelike spinoff of Elden Ring offers a unique take on Soulsborne combat, despite its shortcomings such as a single map and underwhelming enemy variety.

The Executor's standout feature is his cursed sword, which forces a slow walk but allows for deflections of attacks with well-timed parries. Skilled players can use this mechanic to tank boss attacks while teammates dish out damage freely. Each deflection also builds up stagger damage, making enemies vulnerable to frequent stance breaks, and enough parries charge the sword with holy energy for powerful counter-attacks.

However, the best build for Executor barely utilizes these abilities. Instead, it focuses on transforming the starting katana into a boss-melting weapon capable of rapidly procuring not one, not two, but three status effects. These status effects - Bleed, Frostbite, and Poison - quickly chunk down an enemy's health, weaken them to further damage, and inflict damage over time.

The key to this lethal combination lies in two Relics: the Night of the Wise and the Night of Miasma. The Night of the Wise, obtained from defeating the Sentient Pest (Gnoster, Wisdom of Night), grants the Poison affinity on top of the sword's inherent Bleed capabilities. Meanwhile, the Night of Miasma, obtained from slaying the Fissure in the Fog (Caligo, Miasma of Night), adds the Chilling Mist Ash of War, a skill that creates a frost cloud and temporarily buffs the sword with Frostbite. Both relics offer a damage boost when their respective statuses proc in combat.

Anything that enhances katana damage or the Arcane stat, which determines status effect build-up speed, is ideal for the third Relic slot. With the Executor's high S ranking in Arcane, he can apply all three conditions frequently throughout boss battles, turning enemies into sizzling status effect puddles.

The only challenge in maximizing this build's potential lies in upgrading the starting sword during your run. This can be easily accomplished by visiting merchants or obtaining purple Smithing Stones from minibosses like trolls, knights, or pumpkin head baddies within mineshafts. Adding another Bleed-capable sword to your offhand for power stancing is optional, but any upgrades or talismans that improve stamina, defenses, or attacks will be beneficial.

Don't shy away from this absurdly effective setup. It's so potent that Youwy, an Elden Ring YouTuber, used it to solo destroy the Darkdrift Knight at Level 1, and it'll hard carry in three-player co-op as well. So whether you prefer parrying or dodging, this build has got you covered.
