Electric Cooling Devices Debuting in 2025: MTTE Unveils Electric Cooling Machines for Transportation Purposes
Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Thermal Transport Europe Expands Electric Portfolio for Zero-Emission Refrigerated Transport
Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Thermal Transport Europe GmbH (MTTE) is making a significant stride in the transport sector with the expansion of its electric transport refrigeration units portfolio. This expansion, showcased at NUFAM 2025 in Karlsruhe, focuses on zero-emission solutions, addressing the growing demand for decarbonization in the industry.
The new offerings include the electric underfloor refrigeration unit TEU for trucks and the trailer refrigeration unit TEF 1500. Both units employ inverter technology, fully replacing diesel engines, enabling emission-free cooling of freight and substantial cost savings by eliminating diesel fuel usage.
MTTE's electrification strategy extends across all equipment classes in Europe, supported by an expanding service network. The TEF 1500 refrigeration unit, for instance, is integrated into innovative projects like TIP Trailer Services' electric "Powered Trailer," which combines battery power, solar panels, and energy recovery from trailer axles for sustainable cooling operation.
At NUFAM 2025, MTTE will exhibit these advanced refrigeration units in Hall 2, Stand D 206. The event marks the premiere of the fully electric underfloor refrigeration unit TEU for trucks and the TEF 1500, a fully electric trailer refrigeration unit. The diesel version TU of the underfloor series will also be on display.
In addition to indoor exhibits, MTTE showcases refrigeration technology in real vehicle applications in the outdoor area, including a MAN load-through train, a MAN truck, a van, and an MTTE service vehicle.
MTTE is committed to supporting its customers in the gradual decarbonization of their refrigerated vehicle fleets. The company's portfolio expansion responds to the growing demand for emission-free solutions in refrigerated transport, aiming to enable locally emission-free refrigerated transport, especially in urban and regional distribution traffic.
The electrified product lines from MTTE are targeted at transport companies aiming to decarbonize their fleets while maintaining operational capability in urban areas. The complete Preciso product range of fully electric refrigeration units will be presented at the event.
