Electronics retail chain Flanco expands its business in Romania, inaugurating three new stores

Flanco, a popular retail chain in Romania, is expanding its footprint across the country with the opening of new stores in Timișoara, Pitești, and Constanța. This expansion marks Flanco's most significant growth in the last six years and aligns with the brand positioning announced in 2020 across 20 cities in Romania.

The new stores in Pitești and Timișoara will open their doors to customers on July 31, while the store in Constanța will follow suit on August 7. The Pitești store will be located in the Supernova shopping center, and the Timișoara store will be situated in the Aushopping Timișoara Săgăului shopping center, as previously stated.

The store in Constanța will also be situated in the Supernova shopping center, further strengthening the center's retail offerings. These new stores will increase Flanco's network of stores to 30 units after the openings.

In addition to these new stores, Flanco has already expanded its Smart Discounter network by opening three new stores in April 2025, although the exact locations and investments for these stores have not been disclosed.

Moreover, Flanco has plans for future expansion, as evidenced by its land acquisition in Brașov for a greenfield development strategy. A 5,000 sqm land plot in Brașov is set to house a 1,500 sqm facility, although the opening date and investment value for this project have not been revealed.

Flanco's expansion is not limited to these new stores. The company is also set to join the M Park Orăștie retail center, developed by Square 7 (part of the M Core group), when it opens in November 2025. This center, scheduled to open in Orăștie, will cover approximately 5,500 square meters of built-up retail space on a 23,000 sqm plot acquired in April 2024. The project will feature other retailers such as Agroland, Deichmann, Kik, Pepco, Sinsay, Tedi, and Xpress, and will include electric vehicle charging stations operated by Eldrive Romania, built according to green building certification standards.

With over 166 stores located in 114 cities in Romania, Flanco currently employs more than 1,500 people. The expansion in Timișoara, Pitești, and Constanța is a testament to Flanco's commitment to providing quality retail experiences to customers across the country.
