Enhanced mobile connectivity in the Wesel district due to Telekom's advancements
In an effort to enhance mobile coverage and network capacity, Deutsche Telekom plans to install around 30 new mobile phone antenna sites across the Wesel district over the next three years.
This expansion aims to provide fast mobile internet to an even wider population, with the current supply reaching 99% of households in the district. The new sites are strategically located in Dinslaken, Moers, Voerde, and Wesel.
For property owners interested in offering their properties as potential locations for these new mobile network sites, they can reach out to Deutsche Telekom directly. The company welcomes property offers for installing antenna technology and usually provides contact options on its website or through local representatives.
Notably, the existing mobile sites in the district already support the Advanced Mobile Location (AML) emergency call technology and the Cell Broadcast warning system. AML automatically transmits a caller's location to the emergency control center during emergency calls to 112, while Cell Broadcast sends hazard warnings to mobile phones in the affected radio cell, such as during major fires, gas explosions, or floods.
Telekom currently operates 170 sites in the Wesel district, with plans to add 24 more in the next three years. Eight existing sites in Dinslaken, Hamminkeln, Hünxe, Moers, Sonsbeck, and Xanten have been expanded with LTE. One existing site in the Wesel district has been expanded with 5G.
The expansion of mobile network sites has been particularly beneficial along the A3, A40, A42, A57, and railway line North Rhine-Westphalia-West, improving mobile internet coverage in these areas.
Deutsche Telekom AG has been recognised for its mobile network in Germany, being confirmed as the best by specialist magazines Chip, connect, ComputerBild, and Imtest.
Katja Kunicke, Deutsche Telekom spokesperson, stated that the company is maintaining its pace in mobile network expansion due to the increasing bandwidth demand, which is growing by around 30% per year.
