Equinix Partners with Axiz to Expand Data Centre Presence in Africa

Equinix, a global leader in data centre and interconnection services, has inked a distribution agreement with Axiz, a prominent technology distributor in Africa. This partnership aims to bolster Equinix's presence in South Africa and beyond, tapping into the region's growing demand for data centre services.

The collaboration will see Axiz delivering Equinix's data centre and interconnection solutions to partners and enterprises across South Africa and other African markets. Sandile Dube, Equinix's Managing Director, anticipates this partnership will expedite the company's ability to serve the burgeoning demand in Africa.

The strategic alliance seeks to streamline routes to market for resellers. By working together, resellers can now more swiftly procure, build solutions, and close deals. Craig Brunsden, Axiz's CEO, views this partnership as an opportunity to empower the channel with next-generation technologies.

The agreement includes access to the Johannesburg IBX data centre (JN1), Equinix Fabric®, and the global Equinix ecosystem. This combination of Axiz's local market presence and Equinix's global infrastructure is set to unlock new opportunities for African businesses.

The partnership, signed in 2020, is expected to simplify market access for Equinix in Africa, while providing Axiz's clients with advanced data centre and interconnection solutions. As cloud adoption continues to rise in South Africa, this collaboration is poised to meet the increasing demand for secure, globally connected data centre services.
