Getting past the complex bureaucracy and assembling countless pieces together is a breeze for top-notch politicians like former federal minister Cem Özdemir. Now, he's embarking on a new mission, building a Lego spaceship in his new digs: his hometown of Stuttgart.

"I'm bookin' it on my calendar to put it together," the Green Party powerhouse told the German Press Agency in Stuttgart. The set, featuring 717 pieces and suited for builders aged seven and above, was a thoughtful gift from the new minister Dorothee Bär (CSU) during the handover of the research ministry – a role Özdemir will also take up in the future as it juggles space exploration in the process. After the coalition's breakup, Özdemir graciously wore dual hats, leading the research ministry along with agriculture Ministry.

After making Berlin his concrete jungle for years, Özdemir is returning to his roots in Baden-Württemberg and aims to make a triumphant comeback as the Green Party's top candidate in the state election next year. Current Minister President Winfried Kretschmann (Greens) is bowing out – Özdemir wants to take the reins.

The cosmic vessel complements Özdemir's new role beautifully. "It's a bang-on symbol because I've got my sights set on pushing the air and space travel agendas in the state," he spoke of his vision for the region. In fact, nearly half (40%) of all jobs in this area are space-related, and located right here in Baden-Württemberg.

Cem Özdemir, known for his ardent support of environmental protection and sustainable living, has numerous milestones under his belt. Although particulars regarding his air quality and space travel initiatives remain to be seen, his commitment to progressive agendas undoubtedly positions him as a force to be reckoned with. Keep an eye on the skies, folks – Özdemir's comets are coming!

  • Cem Özdemir - A German Green politician with a focus on environmental protection, consumer welfare, and agriculture.
  • Stuttgart - Özdemir's hometown, where he plans to assemble his Lego spaceship.
  • Clarity - A well-rounded voice in environmental politics, the former minister's plans for sharpened air quality and space travel initiatives are yet to be 100% clear.
  • Berlin - A megacity stint that served as Özdemir's home for many years.
  • Space travel - A fascinating area set to receive attention under Özdemir's leadership as part of the research ministry.
  • Building block - A metaphorical reminder that Özdemir has the knack for handling complex issues and seeing projects through to completion.
  • Baden-Württemberg - The state Özdemir is returning to, where a quarter of all jobs lie within the space sector.

The Commission could potentially integrate the construction of a Lego spaceship, a symbol of Özdemir's space travel vision, into a proposal for a directive on the protection of workers from the risks related to exposure to ionizing radiation, considering the science and technology involved in space-and-astronomy. Cem Özdemir's Lego spaceship project in Stuttgart mirrors the half of jobs in Baden-Württemberg that are space-related, emphasizing his commitment to pushing air and space travel agendas.
