Expanded Microsoft Edge settings no longer fit within a single display screen
Microsoft Edge has recently surpassed a significant milestone with the addition of a tab group shortcut, marking a step forward in enhancing the browsing experience for its users. However, when it comes to customizing the context (right-click) menu, the popular web browser, as well as many other Microsoft applications, still lacks native or built-in ways to achieve better UI consistency.
Currently, Microsoft Edge's context menu remains a fixed, static list of options without official support for user-driven reordering, hiding, or removing items. This has led to significant frustration among users who have expressed a desire for basic UI customization capabilities such as removing or hiding unused menu items, reordering frequently used actions to the top, and disabling unwanted features without resorting to obscure settings or registry hacks.
As of August 2025, Microsoft has yet to provide such customization features or official controls to clean up or tailor the Edge context menu. The demand for these capabilities exists but has not yet been publicly addressed by Microsoft.
For other Microsoft applications like Notepad on Windows 11, Microsoft has made improvements to the context menu design to enhance consistency and usability, but these changes do not extend to user customization. They represent internal design updates by Microsoft, not user-configurable options.
In the absence of native solutions, some third-party tools like Winaero Tweaker claim the ability to customize Windows UI elements, including context menus, taskbar, and animations. However, these customizations are unofficial and may not provide fine-grained control specifically for Microsoft Edge’s right-click menu.
If you are seeking better UI consistency and control over the right-click menus in Microsoft Edge and other Microsoft applications, the current options are limited to lobbying Microsoft for native features or exploring third-party UI customization tools cautiously.
