Expanding its Vietnamese footprint, Ericsson establishes a fresh office in Hanoi
Ericsson Opens New Office in Hanoi, Reinforcing Commitment to Vietnam's Digital Future
Ericsson, a global leader in communication technology, has taken a significant step forward in its long-term commitment to Vietnam by opening a new office in Hanoi. The office, which is the first for Ericsson in Vietnam, was officially opened by Ms. Rita Mokbel, President of Ericsson Vietnam.
The new office is strategically located in Hanoi and is equipped with the latest 5G technology demonstrations. Ericsson is showcasing several cutting-edge technologies, including holographic communication, XR smart glasses, superior uplink carrier aggregation, immersive sports fan management, and robotic dogs enabled by AI and 5G.
Immersive sports fan management brings stadiums closer to fans, offering real-time stats, personalised views, and interactive experiences. Holographic communication, on the other hand, redefines how people connect across distances, providing immersive, real-time 3D communication experiences. XR smart glasses are AI-enabled glasses that offer real-time translation, navigation, and productivity tools.
Robotic dogs, enabled by AI and 5G, are being used for industrial safety, inspection, and emergency response. Superior uplink carrier aggregation demonstrates how enhanced 5G uplink performance enables seamless livestreaming and cloud gaming.
Ericsson aims to strengthen partnerships with government, operators, enterprises, and academia to advance digitalisation in priority sectors such as manufacturing, healthcare, and smart cities. The company continues to invest in local talent development, research, and co-creation with academia in Vietnam.
Vietnam has set an ambitious target for the digital economy to contribute up to 30% of total GDP by 2030. Ericsson's new office in Hanoi reinforces the company's role in nurturing Vietnam's innovation ecosystem through initiatives such as Ericsson Educate with PTIT, the AI Lab with RMIT, and an MoU with the University of Transport and Communications.
5G has been identified as critical national infrastructure in Vietnam. The new office boasts an Enterprise Virtual Cellular Network, which enables enterprises to manage and control 5G connectivity for mobile devices.
For nearly 150 years, Ericsson has been pioneers in creating technology for communication, offering mobile communication and connectivity solutions for service providers and enterprises. The opening of the new office in Hanoi is a testament to Ericsson's long-term commitment to Vietnam and its role in driving digital transformation in the country.
In her statement, Ericsson's President, Rita Mokbel, expressed her excitement about the new office and reiterated Ericsson's commitment to supporting Vietnam's digitalisation ambitions. She said, "The opening of the new office demonstrates Ericsson's long-term commitment to Vietnam. We are excited to be part of Vietnam's digital transformation journey and look forward to contributing to the country's innovation ecosystem."
