On September 26, a unique bike tour called the Climate Smart Ride will begin at the SGV Youth Hostel in Arnsberg. This event is part of the BNE Action Days 2025 and is free for all participants, who will be treated to sustainable snacks throughout the day.
The tour covers approximately 27 kilometers with around 380 meters of elevation gain, taking participants through the heart of Smart City Arnsberg. Expert guidance is provided to explain background information and connections during the tour, making it an educational and enjoyable experience.
Participants are recommended to use e-bikes for the tour due to some inclines and forest paths, but regular bicycles are also welcome. The tour showcases various climate data collection, processing, and display stations in Smart City Arnsberg, including stops at weather stations, flood sensors, and river restoration projects.
Modern technology and sustainability are highlighted throughout the tour, providing a fascinating insight into the city's efforts to combat climate change. The tour ends at the Arnsberg City Lab, where the bike ride will conclude in a sociable atmosphere.
Registrations for the Climate Smart Ride are open on the SGV Wander Academy website. Participants can register through Climate Ride's platform, where they can select beneficiary organizations they want to fundraise for.
By taking part in the Climate Smart Ride, you'll not only enjoy a fun and educational bike tour but also contribute to important climate initiatives in Arnsberg. So, mark your calendars for September 26 and join us for this exciting event!
