Exploring the vast, limitless, and innovative realm: IK Multimedia introduces its new reverb plugin.

The music technology world has been abuzz with the launch of IK Multimedia's latest offering – Prism Reverb, a groundbreaking reverb plug-in module that pushes the boundaries of traditional shimmer reverbs.

Key features of Prism Reverb include a modular design, offering four distinct processing sections: Reverb, Modulation, Pitch-shifting, and Feedback. This modularity allows for intricate shaping of the reverb sound, including independent control over left/right channels for modulation and pitch shifts.

The Reverb module provides traditional parameters like Size, Diffusion, and filtering (Highpass and Lowpass), enabling everything from tight rooms to vast ambient spaces. The Modulation module, on the other hand, uses an LFO with independent Depth, Rate, and Random controls on each stereo channel, adding dynamic movement to the reverb tail unheard in typical shimmer reverbs.

Pitch-shifting covers a ±2 octave range with ultra-precise tuning down to 1/100th of a semitone. Each pitch shifter has Level, Shift, and Pan controls, making it possible to create shifting harmonic textures that can be integrated independently or in feedback loops.

The Feedback module controls the intensity and tone of the reverb signal with options like a feedback pitch-shift toggle and a stereo channel flip button to enhance spatial depth, supporting limitless evolving soundscapes.

Designed as a creative "playground," Prism Reverb focuses on "infinite, evolving textures with depth and creative freedom," surpassing the usual “beautiful washes” of traditional shimmer reverbs that mainly blend pitch-shifted signals with reverb tails. It can function standalone or within the broader T-RackS 6 suite, includes artist presets for various instruments and sound types, and is tailored to experimental and ambient sound design uses beyond shimmer's typical ethereal sheen.

Prism Reverb is compatible with both Mac and PC and supports Audio Units, VST 3, and AAX formats. Users have a choice to select from three available versions of Prism Reverb: T-RackS 6 Prism, T-RackS 6 MAX with Prism Reverb, and Total Studio 5 Max with Prism Reverb. The prices for these versions range from $/€79.99 to $/€149.99, with the Total Studio 5 Max with Prism Reverb being the most expensive version.
