Federal government unveils innovative tool to amplify government efficiency, aiming to lead in the competition for Artificial Intelligence supremacy under Trump administration.

The Trump administration has taken a significant step in its AI strategy with the launch of the USAi platform, a secure generative AI evaluation suite designed for federal agencies. Announced on August 14, 2025, USAi is intended to help the government cut costs, improve efficiency, and deliver better services to the public while maintaining security and trust.

The USAi platform is a key component of the U.S. General Services Administration's (GSA) efforts to support the Trump administration's AI Action Plan, which was released in July. The plan outlines 90 federal policy positions focused on maintaining U.S. leadership in artificial intelligence, structured around three core pillars: Accelerating AI Innovation, Building American AI Infrastructure, and Leading in International AI Diplomacy and Security.

In a move to safeguard AI from misuse or theft by malicious actors, the AI Action Plan emphasizes the importance of protecting American workers and ensuring AI systems are trustworthy and ideologically neutral. The plan also promotes the export of American AI technology, streamlines data center permitting, and mandates unbiased AI principles for federal procurement.

USAi provides government users with tools like chat-based AI, code generation, and document summarization to supercharge employee productivity. These capabilities, offered within a trusted, standards-aligned environment, aim to accelerate modernization of government operations, boosting both security and competitive advantage for the American public.

GSA Deputy Administrator Stephen Ehikian described USAi as an "on ramp" to AI and the "tip of the spear" on the AI front. The launch reflects a direct execution of the Trump administration’s AI strategy to embed secure, scalable digital capabilities across the federal government, with early integrations including AI models from Anthropic, Google, Meta, and OpenAI.

Josh Gruenbaum, GSA Commissioner, stated that the rollout of USAi and these partnerships are core to fulfilling Trump's directive to preserve U.S. leadership in the global technology race. Gruenbaum also mentioned that the goal is to turn the federal workforce into the most nimble, smart, efficient, agile, and tech-forward workforce to compete and win the AI race.

The United States government has also partnered with OpenAI to make ChatGPT Enterprise available to all federal agencies for $1 per agency. This move follows GSA's announcement in August that OpenAI's ChatGPT Enterprise is now available to all federal agencies.

NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang commends President Donald Trump's AI agenda, praising the administration's efforts to promote American AI technology. David Sacks, AI and crypto czar, also stated that the plan aims to center American workers and ensure they benefit from AI.

The launch of USAi showcases how the Trump administration is translating its AI strategy into action and accelerating AI adoption across government. This initiative is a significant step towards ensuring the U.S. maintains its leadership position in the rapidly evolving field of artificial intelligence.
