Florim Launches SensiTerre Collection With Matteo Thun & Benedetto Fasciana
Italian architects Matteo Thun and Benedetto Fasciana have collaborated with Florim to create the SensiTerre collection. This range of ceramic flooring and cladding surfaces celebrates natural materials and textures, offering a sensory experience in interior spaces.
The SensiTerre collection, launched ahead of the 2025 London Design Festival, is a testament to Florim's commitment to sustainability and craftsmanship. It consists of six earthy shades and four textured finishes, derived from Thun and Fasciana's 'Venere Bianca' terracotta vases.
The collection extends the artisanal properties of craftsmanship from objects to environments. It embraces natural materials with their inherent characteristics, eschewing veneers and coatings. This preference for natural materials is welcomed in contemporary architecture, as seen in the work of 2025 London Design Medal winners like Michael Anastassiades and Norman Foster.
Florim, a B Corp certified company since 2020, ensures the collection aligns with its sustainability goals. It recovers 100% of its raw production waste and wastewater. Moreover, the SensiTerre collection is part of Florim's CarbonZero project, offsetting all CO2 emissions throughout its lifecycle.
The SensiTerre collection by Matteo Thun and Benedetto Fasciana for Florim offers a variety of shapes and sizes, allowing for multiple configurations. It not only enhances sensory engagement with interiors but also aligns with Florim's commitment to sustainability and craftsmanship. The collection is a significant addition to the architectural materials market, reflecting the growing appreciation for natural textures and tactility.
