Ford Trucks Unveils F-Max Gen 2.0: More Power, Less Fuel
Ford Trucks Germany has unveiled the new generation of its tractor unit, the F-Max Gen 2.0. The model promises improved efficiency and comfort, with a modernized exterior and enhanced powertrain.
The F-Max Gen 2.0 boasts a revamped exterior, featuring a revised radiator grille and optional digital exterior mirrors. Aerodynamic improvements include an active radiator grille closure, new spoilers, wheel arch covers, and additional seals, all contributing to reduced air resistance.
Inside the cabin, the F-Max offers around 13 cubic meters of volume and 790 liters of storage space, with two full-size sleeping places for driver comfort. The powertrain has been upgraded with the Ecotorq Gen2 engine now delivering 510 hp and 2,600 Nm of torque, offering up to 11.3 percent potential fuel consumption reduction. The engine is also suitable for operation with HVO (hydrotreated vegetable oil) without further adjustments.
Ford Trucks promises at least ten percent lower service and operating costs for the F-Max Gen 2.0 through professional vehicle and contract management and maintenance intervals of up to 120,000 kilometers. The F-Max is equipped with a brake pad return spring, reducing brake dust emissions and extending pad life. A five-stage retarder provides up to 600 kW of braking power, with an engine brake offering an additional 400 kW.
The F-Max Gen 2.0 aims to reduce fuel consumption and operating costs while enhancing driving comfort. Ford Trucks Germany presented this new generation at the NUFAM 2025 in Karlsruhe, with F-Trucks Deutschland showcasing the model. The F-Max Gen 2.0 is set to make a significant impact on the market, with its modern design, improved powertrain, and enhanced efficiency.
