French news station France 24 implements StudioEdge and StudioCall technologies

In a bid to enhance the quality and reliability of remote contributions, France 24, an international news and current affairs television network, has deployed QuickLink's StudioEdge and StudioCall. These innovative solutions have proven to be a game-changer, offering seamless, high-quality remote guest integration with multi-platform support and real-time group interaction capabilities.

Eric Devoisin-Lagarde, the traffic and external production resources manager at France 24, has stated that StudioEdge has successfully resolved many issues encountered with Skype TX. As a broadcaster producing content in four languages, France 24 relies heavily on remote contributions for live news and interviews.

StudioEdge, a key component of QuickLink's offerings, supports the seamless integration of remote guests from Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and QuickLink’s own StudioCall platform. This allows broadcasters to introduce remote contributors with broadcast-quality audio and video. The platform enables real-time group conversations, panel discussions, and multi-guest sessions with industry-leading StudioCall technology built-in.

StudioCall, the underlying technology powering StudioEdge’s multi-guest functionality, provides a closed, controlled environment optimized specifically for broadcast workflows and live production needs. This improvement in quality and stability compared to generic conferencing tools is a significant advantage for broadcasters.

The transition to StudioEdge has been smooth for both staff and guests, many of whom were previously familiar with Skype TX. France 24 initially deployed a single StudioEdge server to support three channels produced in Paris, and has since added two additional servers, one for each language-specific channel.

France 24 Colombia will soon integrate the StudioEdge solution, further expanding its deployment across the network. Invitations for StudioCall can be deployed effortlessly via email, SMS, WhatsApp, or by sharing a direct join link.

QuickLink's StudioEdge optimizes video and audio quality of remote guests and callers using AI-technology powered by NVIDIA. This ensures that the output is professional-grade, suitable for live productions.

According to Devoisin-Lagarde, StudioCall has been a great solution for those who don't want to use Teams or Zoom. The flexibility to bring in remote guests from widely used platforms without sacrificing quality is a significant benefit for broadcasters.

In summary, QuickLink’s StudioEdge combined with StudioCall technology offers a robust solution for broadcasters seeking seamless, high-quality remote guest integration with multi-platform support and real-time group interaction capabilities. More information is available on QuickLink's website.
