Funds of Rs 8 crore secured by Noida's online toy retailer, Snooplay, headed by Pravek Family Office
Snooplay, a toy-tech startup based in Noida, has recently raised Rs. 8 crore in a pre-Series A1 funding round, led by Pravek Family Office with participation from other strategic angel investors. The startup, founded in 2019 by Aanchal Mahajan and Brij Raj Singh, aims to redefine play in India through its AI-powered platform.
Snooplay plans to build India's most comprehensive Toy Intelligence Database, mapping thousands of toys to developmental skills, moods, play types, and learning goals. This innovative approach aims to address the common issue faced by parents of not knowing what to buy, when to buy, and the relevance of toys.
Co-founder Aanchal Mahajan stated that the platform is serious about play and aims to help users discover and buy the right toy when needed, and trade it in for store credits once outgrown. Brij Raj Singh, the other co-founder, added that toys are tools that shape imagination, skills, and emotions, and the current toy-buying process is random and cluttered.
Snooplay currently caters to a growing community of Indian parents, collectors, and gift-givers, offering over 35,000 toys from 600+ brands. The startup also intends to expand its buyback program in collaboration with NGOs, enabling sustainable toy donations and encouraging conscious consumption.
In addition to strengthening its private label offerings across various retail and e-commerce platforms, Snooplay also aims to enhance its technology, logistics, and operational backbone. The funds raised will drive the nationwide rollout of new tech-products on Snooplay's platform, and will be used to launch two proprietary innovative tech products.
Snooplay asserts that it is shaping the future of play in India, catering to the evolving aspirations of Indian parents seeking toys with developmental value, sustainable choices, and conscious, purpose-driven buying. The platform aims to enhance toy discovery and introduce a toy-buyback mechanism, building the country's first intelligent toy loop.
The startup's AI-powered platform aims to help users discover and buy the right toy when needed, and trade it in for store credits once outgrown. This innovative approach addresses the issue of not knowing what to buy, when to buy, and the relevance of toys, making toy shopping a more informed and enjoyable experience for parents.
With Snooplay's commitment to play, development, and sustainability, the future of toy shopping in India looks bright and promising.
