Future Joinery Systems Launches Innovative Digital Staircase Configurator

Future Joinery Systems Ltd has launched a pioneering platform that enables bespoke object configuration, including staircases like the award-winning Brockeridge Stair. This innovative digital manufacturing tool was developed with UK government funding and has transformed the construction industry.

The Brockeridge Stair, a 2020 Wood Award winner, showcases the platform's capabilities. Designed by CaSA Architects and engineered by Mann Williams, the staircase spans three storeys and is cantilevered from flush-mounted stringers. It was recognised by the Wood Awards for its elegant execution and role in revitalising a tired infill house.

FabLab Cardiff, using the new digital fabrication platform, CNC machined the staircase directly from BIM modelling environments. This process enabled faster fabrication, better pricing information, and reduced errors and waste. The platform allows users to control parameters such as height, width, depth, and material thickness, making it ideal for bespoke projects like the Brockeridge Stair.

The Brockeridge Stair demonstrates the potential of Future Joinery Systems Ltd's platform in revolutionising digital fabrication in construction. By enabling direct BIM-to-fabrication, the platform offers faster, more efficient, and sustainable solutions for bespoke projects. With support from industry partners like CaSA Architects, Mann Williams, FabLab Cardiff, and Hanson Plywood Limited, the platform is set to transform the sector.
