GAC Sathorn Center and GAC Thailand's Battery Service Facility Now Officially Operational

In a significant move for the electric vehicle (EV) industry in Southeast Asia, the GACB Sathorn Experience Center and Thailand Battery Service Center were officially opened on June 25, 2025, in Bangkok's Sathorn district. This development marks GAC's most substantial investment in the region and represents a strategic move to establish a full-cycle EV ecosystem in Southeast Asia.

The GACB Sathorn Experience Center, GAC's first flagship store in Southeast Asia, is designed to elevate the consumer experience by serving as a premium retail space showcasing GAC's electric vehicle lineup. Among the models on display is the upgraded AION UT, a significant player in Thailand's electric vehicle segment that secured over 4,500 orders during this year's Bangkok International Motor Show.

The Thailand Battery Service Center, a first-of-its-kind facility in Southeast Asia, is approved by the Board of Investment (BOI) of Thailand. This center utilizes GAC's proprietary Cell to Pack (CTP) technology to improve cost efficiency and battery lifecycle management, supporting a closed-loop energy ecosystem aimed at reducing costs, enhancing customer retention, and mitigating supply chain risks.

Located in Thailand, a regional automotive manufacturing hub with projected EV sales growth of 25% annually through 2030, these facilities position GAC to capture a significant share of the burgeoning Southeast Asian EV market, which is expected to account for 12% of global EV demand by 2040.

The dual-purpose facility combines sales, service, and battery maintenance under one roof, reflecting GAC's broader "One GAC 2.0" strategy to integrate products, intelligent manufacturing, channels, services, energy infrastructure, and mobility systems seamlessly.

The battery service center in Thailand operates in partnership with UPower Energy. GAC plans to leverage the Sathorn Experience Center as a flagship showroom not only for Thailand but for the entire Southeast Asian region, using it as a key foothold for further market expansion.

The launch was supported by Thai government officials and covered extensively by local media, underscoring its importance to the country’s transportation evolution and GAC's ambition to pioneer EV adoption in Southeast Asia. This strategic investment in Thailand is a continuation of GAC's expansion in Southeast Asia and a part of GAC's "Sales + Energy Services" dual-track strategy implementation in the region.

In summary, the GACB Sathorn Experience Center and Thailand Battery Service Center represent a major advancement in GAC's Southeast Asian strategy, blending innovative retail and service concepts with advanced battery technology to lead the region’s EV transition.
