Gamescom 2025 Revs Its Engines with Audi, Aston Martin, and More
Gamescom 2025 is set to rev its engines with a lineup of automotive giants and gaming heavyweights. The event, taking place in Cologne, Germany from August 20 to 24, will celebrate the intersection of gaming and automotive technology, style, and adrenaline.
Audi will be among the participants, presenting its Le Mans racing car and the 'Project Motor Racing' racing simulation. Meanwhile, Aston Martin and Chinese game developer HoYoverse will collaborate to showcase the fantasy action RPG Zenless Zone Zero and display an Aston Martin Vantage Coupé in ZZZ design.
Lego fans can look forward to a dedicated stand, revealing new theme worlds around Fortnite, Super Mario, Animal Crossing, and possibly Pokémon. Opel joins the lineup as the additional automobile manufacturer officially represented at Gamescom 2025.
Last year, Mercedes-Benz and cloud gaming provider Boosteroid partnered to allow drivers to access over 1,000 games via the MBUX system in parked vehicles. Audi is set to follow suit with its gaming platform, AirConsole, available in vehicles from July 2025, enabling passengers to play games using smartphones as controllers. BMW and Mattel previously introduced 'UNO Car Party!', an in-car version of the popular card game playable in BMW and Mini vehicles via the infotainment system. Opel also made waves at Gamescom 2024 with the Corsa Rally Electric in an eye-catching 'Gamescom Special Edition'.
Car manufacturers see Gamescom as an opportunity to reach a young, tech-savvy target audience, showcase new technologies, and enhance their brand image. With Audi, Aston Martin, Opel, and Lego among the confirmed participants, Gamescom 2025 promises to be a thrilling event for both gamers and automotive enthusiasts alike.
