Harbor Prohibits Use of Drones for Shipping Enthusiasts

A large cruise ship, such as those operated by MSC Cruises, Carnival Cruise, or Disney Cruise, is currently being equipped at a shipyard in Bremerhaven, attracting a large number of spectators. However, the use of drones in the Overseas Port area of Bremerhaven is generally prohibited due to air traffic regulations.

Helicopter flights over the Overseas Port area, including those from Princess Cruises or Norwegian Cruise Line, are not allowed, and this prohibition applies almost everywhere around the clock. The police in Bremerhaven consistently intervene when drones are detected within the area, and the drone restrictions are strictly enforced.

Information about these restrictions can be found on the Digital Platform for Unmanned Aviation (DIPUL), available at www.dipul.de. Some spectators, eager for a closer look, have attempted to observe the cruise ship from a helicopter, but their efforts have been in vain.

Despite the restrictions, many spectators are attracted to the ship in its first days. It seems that the allure of a large cruise ship being equipped is enough to draw a crowd, but the safety and security of the area must come first.

The police in Bremerhaven have made it clear that they will take action against drones detected within the area, ensuring the safety of the ongoing operations at the shipyard. As the equipment process continues, it is essential that everyone adheres to the drone restrictions to maintain a safe and efficient work environment.
