Despite the lack of comprehensive information, it is clear that Vodafone is making significant investments in the Cham District. The privately funded fiber optic expansion is nearing completion, with the remaining project area, which includes municipalities like Gleißenberg, Pemfling, Rötz, Schönthal, Tiefenbach, Treffelstein, Waffenbrunn, and Waldmünchen, currently being activated.

Vodafone Germany is one of the leading communications companies in the country, providing internet, mobile, fixed-line, and TV services. The company's commitment to sustainability is evident, with a goal to be CO2-neutral by 2025 and emission-free by 2040.

The fiber optic network being built by Vodafone GmbH in the Cham District is set to provide gigabit-speed connections, a welcome development for the region. The district has completed the civil engineering work in five of the six project areas and handed it over to Vodafone for further customer connection.

In partnership with Primevest Capital Partners, Vodafone is self-financing and expanding fiber optic networks in Roding and Furth im Wald, providing fast internet to approximately 6,000 households and business units. The connection rate of over 50% in the Cham district is well above the national average of 15%.

Landrat Franz Löffler, the district's administrative head, emphasised the importance of a powerful digital infrastructure for the positive development of the economic region. He stated that a powerful digital infrastructure is crucial for the region's growth and development.

Vodafone Germany's nationwide cable-fiber network reaches two-thirds of all German households with gigabit speed. The company's electricity demand is covered 100% by renewable energies. Vodafone respects and values all people, regardless of ethnic origin, disability, age, sexual orientation, gender identity, belief, culture, or religion.

As of now, approximately 7,500 households in the first four project areas are already surfing in the network. The majority of customers in the Roding and Furth im Wald projects are already connected. Vodafone is currently welcoming around 500 new customers per month in the fastest and most modern network in Germany.

The goal is to ensure that all remaining customers can join the network as soon as possible. Together with its partner OXG, Vodafone is building up to seven million new FTTH fiber connections in the coming years. This expansion is expected to revolutionise the telecommunications landscape in Germany, providing faster and more reliable internet connections to millions of households and businesses.

Gadgets like smartphones and laptops will undoubtedly benefit from the upcoming gigabit-speed connections provided by Vodafone's fiber optic network expansion in the Cham District. The increasing technology infrastructure in the region, spearheaded by Vodafone, promises a more efficient and productive digital landscape.
