HP Introduces OmniBook 5 Series Featuring Snapdragon, Claiming Revolutionary AI Efficiency and Battery Endurance
HP unveils the OmniBook 5 Series, a line of AI-powered laptops designed for enhanced performance, extended battery life, and robust AI functionality. The series, which includes 14-inch and 16-inch models, was announced on May 19, marking HP's latest addition to its mainstream consumer laptop category.
HP touts the OmniBook 5 Series as offering the world's longest battery life in a consumer AI PC notebook, with up to 34 hours of battery life. According to the tech giant, the laptops are designed to provide sustained performance across multiple days without sacrificing processing power when unplugged.
These devices are powered by Snapdragon X and X Plus processors, coupled with a 45 TOPS Neural Processing Unit (NPU), and are equipped with built-in AI tools and experiences. HP Classifies these systems as Copilot+ PCs and comes preinstalled with AI-driven Windows features, such as Recall (preview), Click-to-Do (preview), improved Windows Search, and Cocreator in Paint. Moreover, HP includes its AI Companion, a tool that supports document analysis and PC performance optimization.
Other notable features include 2K OLED screens for vibrant visuals, 1080p FHD IR cameras for video conferencing, support for single 5K or dual 4K external displays, and HP Audio Boost 2.0 for enhanced audio performance. The company also emphasized sustainability in the design of the OmniBook 5 Series, using recycled metals and ocean-bound plastics in its lightweight aluminum chassis, making it a part of HP's world's most sustainable PC portfolio.
The HP OmniBook 5 14 with Snapdragon is expected to be available in July for a starting price of $799 at hp.com, Amazon, Micro Center, Best Buy, and Costco. Its larger counterpart, the OmniBook 5 16 with Snapdragon, is also anticipated to be available in July, starting at $849.
