iKingtec Unveils Autonomous Drone Inspection Systems at APPEA Conference
iKingtec, a leading innovator in drone technology, made waves at the 24th APPEA Conference by unveiling its cutting-edge, fully autonomous drone inspection systems. The company's 'machine-network-cloud' solution promises customised needs and swift responses, marking a significant leap in national grid maintenance.
iKingtec's drones have expanded their reach beyond traditional grid scenes, now serving new energy generation sectors like photovoltaic and wind power stations. Their autonomous operation, enabled by a deep integration of software and hardware technologies, ensures safe and efficient inspections without human intervention.
Traditionally, power line inspection has been laborious and risky. iKingtec's drones offer a safer alternative, planning flight paths and adjusting sensors automatically. This innovation aligns with China Southern Power Grid's ambitious construction plan, investing about RMB 670 billion (USD 94.15 billion), with combined investments surpassing RMB 2.9 trillion (USD 407.5 billion).
Established in 2017, iKingtec has secured nearly RMB 10 billion (USD 1.39 billion) through eight funding rounds. The company's success reflects the growing integration of drones into daily life, including agriculture, plant protection, surveying, and power inspection. Hitachi Energy's 'new energy generation and maintenance system' at the 24th East Asia and Western Pacific Power Industry Association Conference echoes this trend, focusing on a 'source-grid-load-storage' orientation.
iKingtec's autonomous drone inspection systems, showcased at the 24th APPEA Conference, signal a shift in power grid maintenance. With China's State Grid Corporation planning to invest approximately RMB 2.23 trillion (USD 313.35 billion) in upgrades, such innovative solutions are crucial for enhancing safety, efficiency, and reliability in the power industry.
