In the world of electric vehicles, Xpeng continues to make waves with its latest innovation. The Chinese automaker is set to unveil its next-generation P7 sedan, internally codenamed "E29," on August 6, 2025.
The new P7 promises a dramatic redesign, featuring striking scissor doors, and an impressive electric range of up to 820 km (CLTC). It supports ultra-fast 800V 5C charging, enabling a 436 km range boost in just 12 minutes. The new P7 delivers a powerful punch with up to 586 horsepower.
Priced around RMB 300,000 (approximately $41,820 USD), the new P7 aims to make a strong impact in the luxury sports electric sedan segment. While details about the use of the in-house Turing AI chip are yet to be explicitly confirmed, given Xpeng's push to integrate their proprietary AI chips across flagship models, it's probable that the new P7 will incorporate the Turing AI chip or a similar in-house AI solution.
Meanwhile, Xpeng's global expansion continues apace. The company's first foray into localized production will be in Indonesia, making it Xpeng's first market for local production. The first Xpeng X9 MPV assembled in Indonesia was delivered during the Indonesia International Auto Show.
Xpeng also announced the European launch of its updated G6 and G9 models, showcased at the 2025 Goodwood Festival of Speed in the UK. The G7 SUV, launched on July 3, is equipped with L3-level autonomous driving capabilities and a computing power of 2,250 TOPS.
In terms of sales, Xpeng has had a stellar year. Between January and July 2025, the company delivered a total of 233,906 vehicles, marking a 270% increase from the same period last year. The Xpeng Mona M03 model has cumulatively delivered 150,000 units in just 10 months, with over 15,000 units delivered in July alone.
The Tianji XOS operating system received functional upgrades, including enhanced AEB capabilities, customizable parking, and a human-machine co-driving mode. Additionally, updates to the AI cockpit and charging interface include a pet mode and charging station recommendation features.
With its new P7 set to debut soon, Xpeng is poised to continue its impressive growth and innovation in the electric vehicle market.
