The tech world is buzzing with excitement as Apple prepares to unveil its latest offering, the iPhone 17 series, expected to be revealed in early September. According to multiple reliable leaks, the new lineup will bring a fresh palette of colours to the table, with a mix of classic hues and vibrant new shades.

The iPhone 17 is set to come in black, white, steel gray, green, purple, and light blue. The light blue colour for the iPhone 17 Air matches the sky blue colour available for the 2025 MacBook Air, offering a harmonious colour scheme across Apple's product line. The iPhone 17 Air is also expected to have only a single rear camera, a departure from the dual camera setup of the Pro models.

The iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max, on the other hand, will be available in black, white, gray, dark blue (similar to the iPhone 15 Pro Blue Titanium), and a bold new orange colour. This orange hue is a first for the Pro line, and it's reported to be a notably brighter shade compared to previous hues seen in recent models like the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro.

Notably, the Pro models are missing the previously rumoured lavender colour, which may not have made it past testing. The two-tone colour options are also absent in the leaked iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max designs.

In addition to the new colour options, the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max are expected to feature an elongated camera array, marking a change in design from previous models.

iOS 26, the upcoming operating system for the iPhone, introduces new Liquid Glass icons, and users can enable them on their iPhone. Another feature of iOS 26 is Hold Assist, which solves a common annoyance in phone calls by automatically muting the microphone when you pick up the phone and un-muting it when you put it back to your ear.

While the iPhone 17 series is set to be unveiled this year, rumours suggest that the iPhone Fold, Apple's anticipated foldable smartphone, may not be released until 2026.

The iPhone 17 lineup might introduce a new color option, lavender, which was previously rumored but seems to have been dropped from the final versions. The Pro models are instead expected to come in black, white, gray, dark blue, and a bold new orange color, with the light blue hue for the iPhone 17 Air matching the sky blue color available for the 2025 MacBook Air. The iPhone 17 series also includes smartphones featuring technology for the new operating system, iOS 26, which introduces Liquid Glass icons and a feature called Hold Assist.
