La nation lance "Alliance New Flying" (version traduite) : alliance aérienne nouvelle.
The Baden-Württemberg Ministry of Transport has recently unveiled the "Alliance for New Flying" in a bid to promote the use of sustainable aviation fuels (SAF) and advance decarbonization in the aviation and shipping sectors.
Transport Minister Winfried Hermann presented the alliance at a kick-off event held at Stuttgart Airport on September 15, 2025. The alliance's motto, "Together for More Climate Protection," reflects its commitment to reducing greenhouse gas emissions and supporting climate goals.
The alliance aims to significantly increase the use of SAF, initially focusing on business flights. The goal is to facilitate the market rollout of these fuels, thus advancing decarbonization in areas where alternatives are lacking, such as aviation and shipping.
The Action Plan reFuels, a key component in implementing the strategy outlined by the alliance, focuses on adapting European regulations to promote power-based fuels. It calls for clear framework conditions for the use of SAF at national and European levels.
The alliance provides a platform for stakeholder exchange, strengthens public awareness, and advocates for better regulatory frameworks. It currently consists of twelve members and interested parties and is open to further committed partners. Interested companies and organizations can join the alliance at any time.
The Baden-Württemberg Ministry of Transport will coordinate and support the work of the alliance in the initial phase. The Action Plan reFuels outlines cross-departmental proposals for adapting European regulations to promote power-based fuels.
The alliance promotes the use of SAF for both business travel and freight transport. In a second step, it plans to expand its commitment to private travelers. The alliance's ultimate goal is to reduce greenhouse gas emissions directly with the use of SAF, rather than through subsequent compensation.
The "Alliance for New Flying" is a significant step towards a more sustainable future for aviation and shipping in Baden-Württemberg. By working together, the alliance hopes to make a substantial contribution to climate protection and a greener future.
